National Child Abuse Prevention Month in April reminds us to reflect upon and take action against violence towards children in our communities. Court Appointed Special Advocates are volunteers trained to serve as guardian ad litems for children who have been removed from their homes because of alleged abuse and neglect. Around the state, many CASA programs are holding special events and fundraisers to promote awareness of their advocacy efforts and the continuing problem of child abuse.
