By CASA/GAL on October 28, 2011

2011 Park 2 Park Bike Ride across Montana was a great success! This years ride took place September 12-16, 2011. Every year, the goal is to raise money and awareness for CASA of Montana and local CASA programs.

Watch for further information on how to participate in this exciting event as a sponsor or cyclist next year. Follow this link www.park2parkmontana.org to learn more about the 400-mile route from Glacier to Yellowstone, preview goals, and find out how you can help.

Livingston had three riders participate in this year’s event, which was a great success. A big thank you to, James Neville, Vince Statton, and Sarah Janicki for supporting CASA by riding in the event.

We also want to extend a big thank you to Judge Swandal and his wife Deborah for hosting the annual Park 2 Park luncheon at their home.

‘From Place to Place’ Community Education Forum

By CASA/GAL on July 20, 2011

“From Place to Place is the feature documentary that is sweeping the nation and taking the child welfare community by storm. The film follows modern day Missoula heroes Mandy and Raif for two years after they age out of Montana’s foster care system, find their voice and set out to change the system that raised them. Despite their personal struggles, they are determined not only to make it, but to make a difference.

From Place to Place TrailerMandy is a fiercely determined young woman who earns her GED, makes the Dean’s List and works full time to make ends meet. Raif is equally determined, smart and talented, but he lives on the streets and hops trains, crisscrossing the country in search of love, happiness and belonging. Together, this plucky odd couple takes their stories and the power of their voice to the home of America’s foster care system, Capitol Hill, where they tip the scales and set in a motion a chain of events that leads to comprehensive child welfare reform. The film unearths one of America’s hidden tragedies, while providing glimmers of hope as to how we can better care for our most vulnerable children.
